October AI Literacy Webinar Series

AI Literacy Webinar SeriesYou may not have been able to join our previous webinar series on AI literacy, or perhaps you have and want to continue growing your knowledge. We are excited to announce that we will be running the series again throughout October! 

In the ever-changing world of AI, it can be challenging to keep up with all the developments. To help, we will be offering our series of five webinars exploring Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in education. 

If you’ve attended before, we’d love for you to join us again and share your experiences and progress in AI literacy with the group.  

What we will cover

The series focuses on what gen AI is and how to use it, AI safety, accessibility, the use of AI tools in daily life, and getting creative with AI. We will look at AI tools such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot, and explore AI tools designed for education that can be used for everyday tasks. 

We will also discuss and reflect on the ethical, social, and legal aspects of AI, such as privacy, security, bias, and intellectual property. 

When are they running and how can I book? 

What is Generative AI and how do we use it? 

This session explores what gen AI is, considerations when using it, and how to use it through effective prompting. This webinar is designed to equip educational staff with an understanding of how to use Artificial Intelligence (AI). It will cover the fundamentals of AI, including its capabilities, limitations, and potential impacts. 

Time and booking: Wednesday 3rd October at 12:00 – 13:00  

AI safety 

This session examines what AI safety is, looking at age regulations, data entry, misinformation, and terms and conditions of AI tools. We will also investigate ways to enhance privacy and security, focusing on relevant tools and policies. We will discuss AI biases and the responsible use of AI, including considerations around copyright and intellectual property. 

Time and booking: Monday 7th October at 14:00 – 15:00 

AI for accessibility 

This session will look at a range of AI tools and applications designed to improve accessibility for learners with diverse needs, including gen AI, multimodality, and assistive technologies. We will examine various AI products, with an emphasis on critically assessing their accessibility, focusing on factors such as purpose, target audience, and overall impact. 

Time and booking: Wednesday 16th October at 11:00 – 12:00  

Everyday AI tools 

This session will consider the practical use of AI in daily tasks, focusing on productivity-enhancing tools like Microsoft Copilot, Google Docs, and ChatGPT. We will look at AI’s role in education through applications such as TeacherMatic and Bodyswaps and discuss how these can be integrated into teaching strategies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall productivity. 

Time and booking: Thursday 24th October at 13:00 – 14:00 

Getting creative with AI tools 

This session will explore AI’s role in creative processes, covering applications such as AI art generators, music composition, voice-over creation, writing assistance, and design tools. We will discuss practical ideas for leveraging AI tools like Synthesia and image generations in creative projects. Additionally, there will be an emphasis on the responsible use of AI in creativity. 

Time and booking: Monday 28th October at 13:00 – 14:00

The AI literacy webinar series is aimed at those working in education who wish to learn more about AI. Whether you are looking to integrate AI into your teaching methods or are curious about the latest AI innovations for education. To maximize the value of the sessions, it would help if you had access to one generative AI tool, such as ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or Microsoft Copilot.
