Our new AI in Professional Services community

We’re pleased to launch our new AI in professional services community.

This new community will be dedicated to exploring and advancing the use of Artificial Intelligence across professional services in both colleges and universities.

This community has been created to support you – whether you work in admissions, student services, estates, marketing, HR, finance, library services, or any other professional function within the whole of tertiary education. AI is already reshaping how we function on a day-to-day basis, and this community is here to help you discuss, share and explore with others across the sector.

You can join the JiscMail for regular newsletters and to post updates or questions. Monthly online meetups start on 15 October, following our usual format – the group votes on a topic, then meets for open discussion. We may also explore forming smaller ‘task and finish’ groups to work on ideas suggested by the community.

As within our other communities we will hope to offer:

• Practical Guidance – discover real-world examples, how-to articles, and explainers tailored to the unique challenges and opportunities within professional services
• Shared Experience – learn from peers across the sector who are experimenting, adopting, or leading on AI-related initiatives
• Discussion & Support – ask questions, share successes or failures, and connect with others working on similar goals
• Resources – stay informed with relevant tools, policies, and sector-specific developments

Why This Community Matters

AI has the potential to deliver sustainable, replicable efficiency savings in back-office processes, to streamline operations, improve decision-making, enhance staff and student experiences, and free up time for more strategic or meaningful work. But it can also raise concerns, from ethics and privacy to skills gaps and transparency. This community exists to help you explore AI in a thoughtful, safe, and sector-aware way with colleagues with similar challenges.
